Brock later confronted Spider-Man in the bell tower, but Spider-Man quickly took him down. ![]() He grabbed a mace and tried to use it to kill Spider-Man, but Shocker went after him instead. Brock followed them to a church and witnessed Spider-Man battling Shocker. When Spider-Man set out to rescue Jameson's son, Brock saw the two together and believed that they were plotting against him. However, Spider-Man arrived and distracted Shocker long enough for Brock to get away. He offered Jameson pictures of Spider-Man stealing from the shuttle in order to get his old job back Jameson agreed and put a large price on Spider-Man's head, but later learned that the Rhino was the real thief and fired Brock from the Bugle once again.Īfter discovering that he had been evicted from his apartment, Brock was confronted by Shocker, who had been sent by Kingpin to collect the photos that Brock had taken of the Rhino. When a space shuttle crashed on the George Washington Bridge and the Rhino stole the Promethium X inside, Brock was able to take some pictures of Spider-Man trying to intervene. The newspaper publisher angrily blamed Brock for the destruction of his company and fired him, further fueling Brock's hatred for Spider-Man. Tarantula tried to assassinate Brock, but Spider-Man saved him from death. A furious Jameson forced Brock to leave the Bugle immediately.īrock later tried to get a job at another newspaper company, but the company's headquarters were attacked and destroyed by Tarantula. However, the Black Widow accidentally kidnapped Flash Thompson instead (Thompson was wearing a Spider-Man costume at the time). They planned to have the Black Widow Spider-Slayer abduct Spider-Man, take him back to OsCorp Industries and unmask him on live television. However, the door was answered by Connors, whom Spider-Man had helped change back to normal.īrock later teamed up with Norman Osborn and Spencer Smythe in an attempt to humiliate and unmask Spider-Man. The next day, Brock brought Jameson to Connors' house, promising him that the Lizard was there. He fled the scene, hoping that the story would win him a Pulitzer Prize, but Spider-Man trapped him and destroyed his evidence. After the Lizard had vanished, Spider-Man talked to Margaret Connors and Brock garnered up as much evidence as possible. After secretly following Spider-Man to Connors' house, Brock was attacked by the Lizard, but Spider-Man was able to subdue the creature.
